Doulai is a joint publishing initiative between the Fanqie platform and Douyin. arbbra developed its brand visual identity, covering the logo system and brand application across touchpoints.
The slogan carries both platforms inside it — the "Dou" of Douyin's kinetic energy, and the "Fan" of Fanqie's reading world, converging in a single publishing venture. The visual system's task was to let both forces speak through one form, rather than sit side by side as separate voices.
The logo answers with a book mid-turn. Flipping is the most precise verb for this brand: it is the physical act of reading, a visual echo of "Dou" in motion, and the gesture of departure all at once. A closed book holds content in stillness. A turning book is content coming alive.
The arc of the turning page carries a forward momentum — not settled, but leaving. This reflects what publishing fundamentally is: words that begin with a writer, travel through a platform, and arrive at a reader. Always in transit.
The collaboration between two platforms didn't resolve into a visual merger of two identities. Instead, it found a single shared gesture — and let the brand grow naturally from that movement.
